Overview

This section of the Rideau Trail: Kingston Segment (aka Waterfront Pathway) is very pleasant: the hike goes along the shores of Lake Ontario, often with views of sailboats and sailboards catching the wind in the summer. There is a small beach, a playground, and splash pad. This route also passes among some historic buildings.

Description

This is actually just a highlighted segment of the Rideau Trail: Kingston Segment (aka Waterfront Pathway) that is nice. The main access comes from the parking lot at Lake Ontario Park which is right in the middle of this route. If you park at the parking lot then you can go either direction and do half the trail twice, or do the whole route twice for around 4km.
