Description
After a scenic, winding 3 mile drive including the Makoshika switchbacks, you'll find the trailhead to this loop which includes a designated parking lot with pit toilet on the left of the road.
This singletrack loop is perfect for any ability level as the climbs and descents are very mild in nature and the loop itself is very well marked. Winding your way through this area various sections of the trail will almost certainly make you forget you are in the eastern Montana badlands. Keep an eye for various wildflowers and mule deer who also love this area of the park.
An optional spur takes you to the historic McCarty pond and also McCarty Cabin.
