Cables General Store in Uniondale is an absolute gem!

From the south you are travel through coal country and see good descriptive trailside signage. It's a good 5-6 mile intervals between towns (between Uniondale and Lanesboro it is very remote).

Motorized vehicles are not allowed but between Lanesboro and the New York border you'll see violators.

Buck Falls between Thompson and Starrucca is a must see. The best approach is from Little Ireland road in Starrucca (appx 1.25 miles) From Simpson to Ararat the trail is crushed stone.

The trail gets rough north of Ararat. The best section on the northern half is Buck Falls to Stevens point. Beyond that you'll see the Starrucca Viaduct. There is a trail spur of approximately 1 mile that will take you to the top of the viaduct. Either backtrack there or you'll have to travel on paved roads to find the lower trail again.

There are multiple access points along the trail. The main access points from south to north are: Simpson, Forest City, Uniondale, Herrick Center, Burnwood, Ararat, Thompson, Starrucca, Melrose, Stevens Point and Lanesboro.
