Description

Birnt Hills Trail is a 3.1 mile lightly trafficked loop trail located near Keene, North Dakota that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as east/intermediate. There is a spur at the top of the trail to the overlook point which has a bench and beautiful view of Lake Sakakawea. About half way through the trail, you pass by a creek leading to a beach on the lake. The trail is primarily used for hiking, camping, nature trips, and bird watching.

Keep your eyes out for choke cherries in the summer season.
