Description

The Woodland Loop is part of the larger Manchester Cedar Swamp Preserve. This roughly 1 mile loop from the parking area runs through the preserve and leads to two optional spur loops. It's generally an easy loop, marked by yellow/green blazes with directional arrows to help you follow the trail. These trails are for foot travel only, sorry no pets.

Flora & Fauna

From NH National Heritage Bureau: "This trail winds through early successional forest. Common trees include white pine, red oak, and yellow birch. Many boulders rise above the ground to either side of the trail. These rocks are remnants of the area's glacial history. Look for low-growing wintergreen, partridgeberry, trailing arbutus, and bracken fern scattered among the leaf litter. You may also see small chestnut saplings along the path."
