Parking is available at a developed parking area 500ft below the dirt lot. do not leave valuables in the car as there seems to be some unwanted activity in the area. People use nearby hillsides for target practice so you may want to consider hiking here during the week.

From the dirt parking area, you ascend 200 feet in the first 0.3 miles. areas of this trail approach 25% grade, but the trail is smooth and well maintained. ascending above the canyon floor you'll observe an old movie ranch below you. Catching your breath along the way is rewarded with beautiful vistas of the surrounding canyons.

This trail is not heavily trafficked but is popular with trail runners. Most hikers stop around the 1.3 mile mark. Here you'll encounter a beautiful meadow and may see birds hunting for grasshoppers as we did. This is a great place to lounge under the oak trees or spread a blanket on the ground for a picnic.

The large boulders that are at the western end of the meadow have been tinged pink from a recent fire in the area. Following this trail leads you to FR3N30 also known as Fascination Spring trail at mile mark 2.4
