Description
The Skid Road Trail is a fire road that drops down into the preserve providing access to the White Oak,
Stevens Creek Nature Trail, and
Canyon Trail. The trail passes through an open grassy area at first. At a quarter of a mile, the trail transforms from a gravel road into a dirt road that continues to narrow as it descends deeper into the preserve.
Once the trail enters the woods, you are surrounded by trees covered in moss and ferns grow along the side of the trail. At one third of a mile, the
White Oak Trail breaks off to the left and descends toward the creek bed before climbing back up toward Page Mill Road.
The Skid Road Trail continues straight ahead, descending a little more steeply until the trail arrives that the junction with the
Stevens Creek Nature Trail. From here, you can follow the
Stevens Creek Nature Trail to the right and work your way toward the
Canyon Trail. In order to get back to your car, follow the trail back up to your car.
Flora & Fauna
Deer and turkeys can be seen feeding in the fields along the trail in the evening.
