Description

From the visitor center, the trail crosses the meadows on the east side of the Middle Fork San Joaquin River and continues to run next to it. At 0.2 miles, the Minaret Creek Trail branches off to the right over the bridge across the river.

Stay left and after 100 yards you'll reach the impressive geological formation of hexagonally shaped rocks that gave this national monument its name. Continue further alongside the river and the rocks for another 100 yards.

At 0.5 miles the trail leaves the river and heads southeast. Reach the junction with Lower Rainbow Falls Trail at 0.7 miles.
