Need to Know
Parking is free and located on Angelo Lane, which can be accessed from Jones Road.
Description
This is a doubletrack trail that has a very different feel than most trails in the state and even contains a desert ecosystem. This is part of the Spring Green Prairie, which is owned and managed by the Nature Conservancy.
The trail starts off the parking lot at Angelo Lane. For the first mile of the trail, you are hiking on a mostly flat and sandy section of prairie among tall grasses. The trail then enters a forest and starts to gently climb before steeply climbing up to the top of a bluff with a very nice view of Spring Green.
The trail ends of the top of the bluff. Although there appears to be more trail after reaching the top of the bluff, there is a sign that prohibits you from venturing farther.
Flora & Fauna
Look for cacti and lizards in the warmer months. Visit the Nature Conservancy website for Spring Green Prairie for more unique flora and fauna that can be found here.
