The hike is quite easy. There are many wildflowers in the spring. There is also a nice waterfall of a small tributary just off the trail.
Description
Start at Sandstone Spring. There is a nice parking area. The spring is frequented by nearby campers getting water. Head away from the spring. The other end of the Tanbark, past the spring, leads to Hearts Content Area.
It is a pretty easy hike passing through mixed forest of maple, oak, and hemlock. Many wildflowers in the Spring. There is also a small tributary near the river that has big rocks and waterfalls. You'll hear them from the trail if they are running.
The trail does not actually go all the way to the river. You need to cross the highway and go down a pretty steep little hill.
Flora & Fauna
Wildflowers and birds. A White Tail Deer if you are lucky.
