Parking is free in a gravel lot just off of Stilesboro Road. There are bathrooms, a water fountain, and a covered picnic area.

The trail partly follows the sewer line along the east side of Allatoona Creek. Follow the trail south. When the sewer line meets the creek, the trail turns a sharp left and then right. You can ford the creek and explore the other bank.

If you make the left but go straight instead of turning right, you'll end up at the meadow. When you continue right, the trail becomes narrower. You meander along with the creek. At about 0.3 miles, there is a large S-curve in the creek. There are several places to make your way down to sand bars along the water.

Or, stay up by the trail and sit on a bench to relax and enjoy the view. The trail continues around and comes to its narrowest point. As you leave the creek bank, you'll see a sign that marks the end of the park property. The trail doubles back on itself here and heads up a hill to end at the meadow.

Being along the creek offers many great animals to find. Some of the low areas along the trail host small ponds. Look for tadpoles in the spring and fall. Down in the creek, you can find fish, turtles, and water birds. Deer are a common site deeper in the park.
