Description

This is a mildly trafficked doubletrack trail that travels on top of a wooded hill. The trail starts at the first parking lot that you encounter on Whitemound Drive traveling north. You'll see a sign for the Kiln Trail. The trail starts as a singletrack and begins climbing. It is joined briefly with a horse trail, which is marked by yellow blazes.

The trail widens to a doubletrack and goes up a steep slope with some loose rock-watch your feet! Once past this part, you are basically on top of the hill and the trail flattens. You'll come to a point where the trail forks—this is the loop. You may see the lake between the trees but unfortunately there is no point on the trail where the lake is in clear view.
