Overview
The hike starts and ends at a local temple and passes through some very interesting areas. What makes this route special is that it has great views and is entirely off-road, without having a lot of elevation. This is quite hard to find in Chiang Mai!
Need to Know
There are no drinking or resting options along the route, most of the time you'll be in the forest. Make use of the basic facilities at the temple.
Description
From the starting point you'll head off on a doubletrack before taking a turn on a singletrack. The surface here is very soft and pleasant, making it a fairly fast track. After joining back on to a doubletrack you'll have to make a steep, rocky climb to get on a ridge but you'll be rewarded with nice views. Following the ridge you head south back down into the forest. You'll have to be careful here as there are many trails and they are not always obvious. Trust your GPS.
Flora & Fauna
You can spot nice butterflies, small birds, flowers and possibly snakes.
