This is a day to take in the unearthly landscape. This section of the trail is where you get the true flavor of the broad, bare summit of Mount Roraima.

This unique landscape is notable for it's limits, not it's richness. The constant rains denude the environment of the intensity and nutrients of the rainforest that surround the area. This creates a space that is open and limits the vegetation to the very limited flora and fauna that can live here.

Along the way you pass the triple border of Guyana, Brazil and Venezuela. Continue on and set your tent at the Hotel Quati. From there hike on and visit the viewpoint that looks east across the jungle.
