To access Mount Roraima you need either a local guide or to go on a tour. Local guides can be found for cheap in Paraitepuyn (the launching point for all trips).
Description
You start the day with a crossing of the Tek river which can be high after a rain. After less than 1.5 miles you have to cross another significant river - the Kukenan River.
Continue through the stark, open landscape that is spotted with springs marked by verdant blooms of vegetation.
Follow the braided trails that head uphill at a good railroad grade. Soon the mountain grows above you and you arrive at base camp.
