Overview

This is a fine stretch of singletrack that covers multiple trails in Lewis/Trow Mound Recreational Area. This route covers the entirety of multiple trails, all of which are extremely well marked. The trails are made with mountain biking in mind, which causes there to be many hairpin turns and short quick changes in elevation. Overall this route is a blast that is never boring and never too busy with other runners, hikers, or bikers.

Need to Know

Lewis/Trow Mound is free to use as a hiker or runner. There are fees for mountain biking or skiing. There are camping spots available at the main trail center for a $20 fee. Showers and bathroom facilities can be found at the main trail center.

Description

Start at the parking lot off Hwy 95 and take a right onto the Snodgrass Trail, a flat trail through the woods. Careful of the foot bridges-the slats are far apart and are easy to get a foot stuck in them!

Snodgrass will take you to the main parking lot. From here, get on the Lower Glen trail for about 1 mile until it ends at the Swamp Cut Trail. Take this to where it ends on the Yellow Jacket Trail, which will run for another 2.5 miles until it ends at the top of a hill with a picnic table and options to connect with other trails in the area.
