Family Friendly
Easily accessible from the parking area. Clean, wide trail that goes near the river but still a safe distance.
Need to Know
Short gravel road leading to the designated parking area. There is a trail map just off the parking lot.
Description
The trail is nicely groomed wide enough for comfortable distance between hikers. It is mostly flat but there are some slight declines/inclines leading to and from the river. Along the way there are lovely views with tree-lined fields and wildflowers. You can hike to the river's edge in several places. The bluffs along the river are beautiful.
Flora & Fauna
The first part of the trail leads you through oak savanna and open rolling terrain with wildflowers. Lots of oak and walnut trees near the river and vegetation along the riverbank. Small woodland animals and a nice variety of birds can be seen.
