Great short hike or trail run.
Need to Know
The first 0.3 is very steep with switchbacks. Upper loop is somewhat flat
Description
The trail starts from a nice parking area with enough space for about a dozen vehicles. There are usually a couple cars there any time of day. From the parking lot you can start up the trail or start exploring the rocky creek that runs along the bottom section of trail. Lots of signage and information at the bottom and top loop trail connector.
There is essentially one trail that makes a lollipop back to the parking area. The first section from the creek to the top loop consist of somewhat steep switchbacks with roots and rocks. Once at the top your legs should be nice and warm.
You can travel the upper loop in either direction and both offer great views of large maples, oaks, walnuts and many other older trees. There is a decent canopy in the summer and fall with plenty of shade and colors. On the upper loop section there is one wash around the backside of the hill but would still be considered a moderate climb or descent.
Once completing the upper loop hike back down to the creek or do this loop in reverse for a different experience and a total of 3 miles. When at the bottom You can kick off your shoes take call dip in the creek or head into town nearby nearby Lebanon Ohio.

Lots of little creatures running around including squirrels, chipmunks, lots of bird species and the occasional Whitetail deer.
