Need to Know

A small portion of this trail coincides with a snowmobile trail; please be aware of snowmobiles.

Description

This trail starts off Black Brook Road/Lead Mine Road from a small parking pullout. It travels closely along the edge of Durgin Pond to its southern end, where there is an excellent view (especially during fall). The western edge of the pond is riddled with small hills to climb.

Shortly after passing by a small view spur (on the right), the trail turns onto a gravel road. Follow this road/snowmobile trail out to East Madison Road. To get back to the start of the trail, either follow the same route back or take a right onto E. Madison Road.

Flora & Fauna

Flora: Pitcher Plants, Large Cranberry, Eastern Hemlock.
Fauna: Grouse, Chickadee.

Beautiful walk. I made it a loop rather than out and back. There are places where you have to look carefully for the trail markers. 1.5mi — 40h 00m
