Description

This trail starts off as hike through the field near the parking lot, which leads to a serene pond (hence the name Lake Trace). From there, the trail enters deciduous woods. The trail itself is quite simple and winds through the forest. It is mostly flat with only a few segments containing uneven terrain.

The trail briefly meets up with Diagonal Trace, so be sure to stay on the northernmost route to proceed on this trail. All three trails in this preserve meet up at their terminuses in the northwest corner of the park.

Flora & Fauna

This upland forest is primarily deciduous with beech, oak, and maple trees. However, there are some spruce and pine trees in the northernmost sections of the park near OH-87.
