Need to Know
Parking at the trailhead is free and plentiful. The trailhead is easy to find as there is a huge gateway to mark the start of the trail.
Description
This trail rocks. Experience the unique geological nature of the area while hiking up glorious singletrack which becomes steeper as the climb progresses. At the top there is a wonderful peak sign, a sign in book, and even some binoculars to take a look around.
There are mile markers that seem more or less accurate on the trail for miles 1,2,3,3.5, not to be confused with green sign numbers which are for reference only. The trail is well marked and uniquely maintained with several folding chairs and benches along the route for a quick break. There are also several unfilled dog bowls for you and/or your furry friend to use.
The first mile is steep, the second mile starts to get tricky in parts, and everything after that is pretty steep, but manageable.
Be aware that the trail is DEFINITELY MORE LIKE 7 MILES round trip.
Flora & Fauna
