Description

The section of Trail #258 connecting Trail #257 and Caribou Ridge National Recreation Trail #79 on Coeur d'Alene Mountain is a mostly flat and very easy trail following an old overgrown logging road. There are no views to speak of, tall thick trees blocking the view across the valley. Good alternate route when hiking Caribou Ridge National Recreation Trail #79 to Coeur d'Alene Mountain, turning a regular out and back into a loop.

Flora & Fauna

Wildflowers grow along the trail, and thick fur, tamarack, and pine grows along it, along with some vine maples.
