Description

Pass through the outdoor hallway of the visitor center and down the ramp to find the trail. It wiggles past a couple roads that are not available to the public and over a bridge. Continue west to find a small bird blind to watch birds on a pond. The wall contains a sign to help identify some of the birds that may be found there. A few feet further, on the right, a spur loop leaves the trail for an observation deck over a more open pond.

The path splits into the loop a little over half a mile along. At the far end of the loop, there is another spur to an Observation Deck high over Salmon Creek.

The entire length has interpretive signs with details about the wildlife that can be found here, conservation efforts, and a little bit of the history of the area. The total loop and return is about 2 miles. The trail is as wide as a road and consists of packed dirt and gravel. It should be ADA accessible, but is not listed as such where I can find. The Observation Deck and short boardwalk at the visitor center are "universally accessible". Bicycles are not allowed. Pets are not allowed.
