In 2020 the summit shuttle is not running due to COVID concerns. This route starts from the highest accessible parking on the Meadows-in-the-Sky parkway.
Overview
A look at three of the alpine lakes at the top of the Meadows-in-the-Sky parkway. Driving the parkway up to alpine is spectacular, of course, but pales in comparison to the alpine hiking once at the summit. This hike features Eva, Miller, and Jade Lakes in a full day hike. Camping is available at Jade and Eva lakes.
Need to Know
A National Park pass is required to drive the Meadows-in-the-Sky parkway as well as to stop in any National Park, even for day hiking.
Description
Park at the top of the Meadows-in-the-Sky parkway in Revelstoke National Park, then proceed on the summit trail (or in the absence of COVID19 closures, take the shuttle bus) to the summit area. Once there begin on the well-signed trail to Miller lake which you'll reach in about 5km. Eva lake is a further couple of kilometres and makes a great lunch spot with a background of snow-capped peaks and the alpine lake. On the return, take the steep, signed, spur to the pass that crosses into Jade lake, although late snow may impede your progress even in late July in some years.
Backpackers may camp (backcountry permit required) at sites on Eva and Jade lakes but not at Miller Lake.
Flora & Fauna
Alpine and sub-alpine meadows, forest and lakes. There are often bears in the area.
