Section 5 of the SRK G starts just south of the parking pullout on Route 114. It runs through an open field, then arcs left. It partly follows a snowmobile trail, then travels along a singletrack to Webster Pass Road. Webster Pass is, allegedly, the route that Daniel Webster used to herd his sheep for his college tuition.

Turn right along Webster Pass, then left at a slash drag. It climbs up to just below an old mica mine, then turns left. It climbs through a few areas of open timber harvest land, where you can get some decent views of the Grantham Mountain Ridge. After the last opening, the trail follows an old road (delineated by stone walls on both sides). It climbs up towards the top of the hill and turns left into the woods.

It climbs over the top of Royal Arch Hill, then descends down to a viewpoint. It continues its descent down to the water tower access road. Turn right onto this road, then left (in a short distance. It climbs up to Perley Road and follows it (left) for nearly a mile. Here, you have the option of checking out Morgan Pond or continuing along the main trail, along Old Poor Road.

The trail skirts along some ponds, then descends along the Great Brook Trail. It passes by some historic cellarholes with a kiosk explaining the hardships of the early settlers. This trail continues following the Great Brook Trail until it reaches Wolf Tree Trail. This is where section 5 ends and section 6 picks up.
