This section of the Cohos Trail starts at Baldhead Shelter and follows along Kelsey Notch Trail. The Cohos Trail turns right onto Kelsey Notch Road/ Snowmobile Corridor 110 and follows it to the next junction. Here, at the junction, the trail turns left (uphill) to follow Dixville Peaks Trail/ Snowmobile Corridor 134.

As you approach the bend in the road, keep an eye out for the yellow-blazed rock barricade along your left. The Cohos Trail turns left (into the woods), following Dixville Bypass. Dixville Bypass ends at the next ATV trail and the Cohos turns left along the ATV trail. Stay to the right when the ATV trail turns hard left.

Here, the trail follows along Wilderness Link (#J1) to the Balsams Resort Ski Slope. It crosses over the summit of the ski slope, staying to the right. It follows Connecticut Ski Trail to the woods edge, then travels along Mount Gloriette Trail (#9).

At the junction with Table Rock Trail (#50), it follows it straight, then turns right. A short distance to the left, will take you to the view off Table Rock. In a short distance from the Table Rock junction, there's an ice cave (on the right). The trail travels to Three Brothers Trail (#59) and follows this to the Dixville Notch State Wayside. There are multiple viewing spots of the Huntington Cascades along this trail.

The trail turns right (in the parking lot), then left (along the cemetery fenceline). Cross over Route 26 and connect with the Flume Brook Trail to the falls. Just above the falls, the trail takes a sharp left onto Sanguinary Ridge Trail (#58). This part of the trail passes by multiple views.

Turn right onto Sanguinary Summit Trail (#53) and follow this for a long while. Panorama Shelter is about 1 1/2 miles from the summit of Sanguinary Mountain. The trail turns right (downhill) along the Balsams Ski Trail #42. Turn right onto the road, at the bottom of trail #42. At the next ATV junction, turn right onto Sugar Hill Trail.

Take the trail (on the left) under the same name of 'Sugar Hill'. At the end of Sugar Hill Trail, it turns into Tumble Dick Trail. Alison Falls is a short distance along the Tumble Dick Trail. The Cohos Trail follows the Tumble Dick Trail all the way to Coleman State Park. This section of the Cohos Trail ends at Diamond Pond Road.
