Description

This is the main trail in this small preserve owned by the Clifton Climbers Alliance. It begins at a small parking area off of ME-180. It starts fairly flat passed a small kiosk with information about the preserve and CCA. It continues and beings to climb slightly.

As it continues there are a few small forks in the trail that lead to areas that are meant for climbing the bluffs. It is important to note that this trail is not blazed at all and in order to make it to the top, it is best to keep left at all of these forks. Somewhere around the halfway point of the trail, it begins to climb steeply.

This climb continues until right before the bluffs at the top. Around the end of the trail, you can choose to either climb up the bare rocks to the cliffs or continue to the left through the woods. Either way, you'll make it to the end and be rewarded with wonderful views of the valley, the surrounding mountains, and a group of wind turbines to the west.
