Description

The kids and I hiked this wonderful trail in 25 minutes, which included a few stops to check out the "Big Poplar" (and it is HUGE) and the views of the creek along the way. Terrain drops/rises as you near the creek, but the trail is in great shape and includes stones stairs where necessary. Hiking this trail during the spring bloom and/or the autumn is rewarding.

Flora & Fauna

As with any trail in Central Virginia, keep an eye open for woodland creatures that frequent these parts. Last trip on this trail, we saw squirrels, several species of small birds, a large blue heron, a black racer snake, and one super fast chipmunk.
