A nice trail that begins wide and flat, narrows with some good elevation, and meanders in fields and under trees.

There is also a small parking location at the end of Yeatman's Station Road if anyone is not interested in the Pendel Trail portion which could be skipped altogether.

Overview

I refer to this as the Landenberg Lasso as it is near Landenberg, is shaped like a lasso, and follows a horse trail for a while on Wendel Cassel Trail. There is some nice elevation about halfway along Wendel Cassel Trail.

Need to Know

I took my dog along the trail and saw other dogs on the Pendel Trail portion, but only saw runners on the Charles Bailey Trail and Wendel Cassel Trail portions.

Description

From Parking Lot #1 on London Tract Road in the White Clay Preserve, cross the bridge and turn right (south) onto PennDel Trail. At about 0.8 miles, cross over the bridge across Eastern Branch White Clay Creek and follow Charles Bailey Trail southeast. At about 0.5 miles, turn left onto Yeatman's Station Road. I saw one car and a mail truck on this stretch of roadway. As it is a dead end, there should not be much traffic.

Follow nearly 0.3 miles until signs for Wendel Cassel Trail (on the left) that begins with a gravel road on the left. About 0.1 miles along the gravel road, the trail continues to the fight. Follow this around to the bridge where Charles Bailey Trail begins, and return to PennDel Trail and end at the Parking Lot #1.
