During the winter months the access road (FR 99) to the trail is inaccessible by car because of the snow. During other months the road is relatively easy to pass as long as you have a vehicle that can handle mud and uneven dirt roads.
Overview
The
New Boston Trail takes you up into the site of the original Chittenden Town settlement, New Boston. The trail has a gradual climb that takes you through beautiful new growth woods to a junction with the Long Trail and the David Logan Shelter.
Need to Know
After your hike, stop at the Mountain Top Inn & Resort for some appetizers and a beer as well as great views of the Chittenden Reservoir.
