Description
Smith
Creek Trail starts in a field next to a Cal Fire installation, at the end of
Foothill Trail. From the trail signpost at the end of
Foothill Trail, follow the arrow pointing right/east onto Smith
Creek Trail.
Starting out in the field, Smith Creek is soon heard nearby on the left/north. A few steps later Smith
Creek Trail enters the woods on the banks of Smith Creek. From here, staying next to the creek, the trail follows Smith Creek upstream until the trail ends after 0.7 miles. Along the way, the creek is crossed at the 0.25 mile mark, and so is on the right/south side of the trail for the rest of the ways. Towards the end of the trail, the going gets rocky, and may be actually in the creek during and right after heavy rains, as the rocks are all rounded as if they've been worn down by rushing water.
Smith Creek is a pretty little creek, especially on a sunny spring day.
Flora & Fauna
Lush, dense, creekside vegetation, surrounded by grassy hills that are green in the spring, and golden in the summer and fall. Deer.
