Driving in is not well marked. When you see a gate on the left and a sign on the road ahead saying "no parking. Private property" etc. turn left and go through the gate (close it behind you).

Description

After going through the lower gate, drive up and park below the caretaker's house at the trailhead kiosk.

Start grinding up the hill, as it climbs fairly steeply right away. Soon it is following Rough Creek, and if you get down to the creek, off the trail, you'll see it cascading down. There is a lot of moss and rock, and it is simply a pleasant surprise despite the fact it is a gravel forest road.

After 0.8 miles this will end at the beginning of the trail system for Rough Creek Watershed.
