Description
This is a single section of the West River Greenway
Trail that begins off Ramsdell Street basketball court parking lot and runs along the West River in a southeast direction. The trail is part of a much longer trail and begins with a pathway recently cleaned and partially mulched by partners and members of the West River Watershed Coalition.
Downed trees are in the process of being cleaned up and vines are being cut from around trees to improve the health of the trees. The path takes some turns but generally stays within 15-30 feet of the river, and is very scenic and easy to follow.
Trail markings are temporarily marked by pink ribbons tied around trees until Greenway
Trail marks are erected, as exist north of Ramsdell Street.
When leaves are down, one can see through to neighboring buildings, but this is a really nice urban oasis and is highly recommended since it's part of a much longer and more heavily travelled route. It's a bit of a secret since it's just being maintained anew, but it won't stay that way for long if the footbridge at the south end (closed for repairs) eventually gets fixed.
