Need to Know

Parking is across 821 at Broughtons or at the end of Mill Creek Lane. Intersects with Rudolph Farm Trail and at least one other trail. Some muddy sections but well maintained by the local mountain bikers.

Description

The trail starts on an abandoned road, near other trailheads, crosses a creek and then follows along it before heading through switchbacks up the hill.

Although you can hear I-77 most of the hike (and see it, too, at least in the winter), you can still hear birds and other wildlife. Lots of ferns and trees this time of year.

The last part is through a section of pines, coming out by a small parking area next to a gravel pile.

Flora & Fauna

Not a lot in winter, mostly we saw trees, ferns, some birds and squirrels.
