Description

This segment begins near a parking area and follows a gravel service road for a short while. Keep a lookout for the trail split on the left/east side, and follow the red diamond blazes. This trail passes through an area that experienced a "prescribed burn" in April 2019. The mature trees clearly survived the burn, but charred remains of under-story brush is evident and burn marks apparent on the trunks of larger trees. The trail passes mostly through hardwood forests and some areas of pine trees.
