A simply gorgeous hike. Wildflowers peaking in late March and there are forested and shaded areas near the creek.

Overview

This hike begins at the 10 Mile Trailhead, and travels down to the Big Chico Creek via T-Ford connector then back up to the Annie Bidwell Trail.

Description

This hike travels down the canyon to the Old Simmon's homestead. Remnants of the chicken coop remain, and there is a nice picnic bench under an old persimmon tree beside a pond where the foundation of the cabin is located. Lovejoy Falls can often flow after significant rainfall and cobbles from the Lovejoy Basalt are common along the hike.
