Overview

Formed in 2002, Mill Creek Preserve has spent nearly twenty years delighting its visitors with beautiful woodland scenery. This area houses a mixture of dense stands of hardwood and pine, intermixed with florida swampland and grassy marsh. Interestingly, this area also houses American beech trees existing in a small pocket outside their typical natural geographic range.

Need to Know

• Trails are open sunrise to sunset every day of the year.
• Insect repellant will be your friend while in this area.

Description

Starting from the parking area, head west to make a lollipop loop along the West Trail and Hammock Trail. Upon reconnecting with the parking area, you can extend your time in the area and experience all the park has to offer by making a journey down the Marsh Trail and Old Providence Trail. In this area, keep your eye out for those American beech, characterized by their easily identifiable buds that look like small rolled cigars.
