“A great hike to see incredible views of mountains and coast.
”
Family Friendly
Easy trail with rewarding views, but must keep kids close by to avoid straying towards dengerous precipices.
Need to Know
Parking on weekends and holidays will be difficult as there is very limited parking at the trailhead (end of the road). Hope for someone to be leaving and grab their spot along the side, or just park and hike up.
Description
This is a very popular hike that attracts many people from Valencia. From the trailhead, hike straight up a wide worn path to the first mirador, off to the right. Lacing any railings, we ventured only a short way out on this series of wide sandstone rock layers, but the less fearsome will go farther out and enjoy the feelings of adventure mixed with rewarding views. Some people boulder off this side of the mountain.
Following arrows that point left--counterclockwise--there are two more promontories you can hike out to; these are protected with railings. There are numerous picnic tables and a long stone bench to accommodate picnickers. Continue following the signs towards the right, and a red dirt road takes you around the edge of hill back to the trailhead, including fabulous views and close ups of almond trees and other scenic local vegetation.
