Overview

The trail begins on a gravel access road sharing the way with several other trails. As the other trails peel off you'll see fewer and fewer people. The highlight of this trail is the 1700 foot boardwalk over the cypress swamp.

Description

The trail starts on a very flat gravel access road. The second section is grassy doubletrack with a few muddy rutted areas. This section has a 1700 foot boardwalk over the cypress swamp. After two intersections the trail comes to a "T". At this intersection the Yellow Trail sign points right, but if you want to follow the short loop you go left and rejoin at the next intersection. You rejoin the Yellow Trail here at a small kiosk and once again follow a gravel road.

Flora & Fauna

Recent (January 2020) controlled burns have removed much of the ground cover. Still you'll see saw palmetto, doe moss, ground cactus, and tall thin conifers.

The trails here are marked by these blaze signs. Sometimes you have to look on the back of the post to see what your trail does.
