With so many variations, it's hard to pick a route around Tre Cime di Lavaredo. However, with this short 6-mile trek you can take in all the sites without having to backpack in.

Park at Rifugio Auronzo to begin this hike. Begins at Dolomiti 105 - Rifugio Locatelli to Auronzo as you hike clockwise around the stunning rock feature. There is no shade along this trail but that just makes the views so much better.

You'll descend for the first 2 miles or so. From there you'll climb a moderately steep grade to reach Dreizinnen Hut (if you're taking a longer backpacking trip, this is a great place to spend a night). From the rifugio pick up Dolomiti 101 and head south below the Paternkofel. You can take the Dolomiti 101 all the way back, but a nice alternative is to hop on the Rudere Loop Trail. You pass a couple of lakes, a small rock feature, and the Lavaredo Hutte.

Get back on the Dolomiti 101 to navigate back below Tre Cime di Lavaredo and back to Rifugio Auronzo.
