Easy short trails with interpretive signs.
Overview
Effie Yeaw Nature Center and the park is a wonderful place to come with the family. The most popular loop, shown here, is a combination of three sepearate interpretive trails. The path is level and easy to navigate, there are interpretive signs along the way, and there is abundant wildlife to seek out.
Description
This route begins on the
Main Trail which takes you first past the Nature Center. Stop in to get oriented before heading out on your own to explore the area. The
Main Trail is part of the Riverview History tour which takes you out to an overlook of the river. From the overlook, you'll backtrack and stay left to stay on the
Riverview Trail. From there, you'll divert from the interpretive trails and swing by Nature Study Pond via
Meadow Trail. Here you'll find more interpretive signs. As you follow the
Meadow Trail north, learn about the wildlife and plants that live in the area.
This hike is a great option of the whole family. The easy trails are great for short legs and the interpretive signs means everyone has the opportunity to learn something. Views and sightings of birds and other wildlife are abundant.
