Need to Know
Dogs aren't permitted on the portion of trail that follows the Fisherfield Trail.
Description
This is the last section of the 75-mile long Sunapee-Ragged-Kearsarge Greenway. This section starts from the NH Audubon's Stoney Brook parking area, just above Chalk Pond. It runs west along Chalk Pond Road, south on Gerald Drive, then west along Skytop Drive. Along Skytop Drive, the trail turns left up a grassy road. In a short distance, the trail fuses with the Fisherfield Trail and runs along a singletrack.
Somewhere, along the rock wall, there's a yellow blazed trail (on the left); this trail might be a part of the Stoney Brook Sanctuary, but it's unclear since it's not signed. At Bartlett Road, the trail crosses the road then turns left to follow an old woods road. Just before reaching Old Province Road, the trail passes by Bly Hill Cemetery (on the right). Follow Old Province Road west then Old Post Road down to
Route 10.
Follow
Route 10 west to the town of Newbury. This section of the SRK G ends after crossing the crosswalk to the plaza parking. Though this trail isn't meant to be done as a thru-hike, this town might be suitable for a short-term re-supply.
