Description

This trail starts from the trailhead off Mountain Road Ext. From the parking area, it passes by a kiosk and a gate. It follows an old road to a small open area. Here, there is a small spur (on the left) that leads to a granite boundary marker from 1898. This small spur is a dead-end that turns back from the marker. The main trail turns right and ascends to a connector trail (on the right). The connector trail is the other spur of Father Loop. It climbs over another hump of the mountain, then descends to an open area with spectacular views. The trail loops around at the north end, then runs southward along another road. When the trail reaches the junction with Mother Loop, it turns right and climbs back up to Mountain Road. Take Mountain Road left to get back to the Father Loop Trail Parking.
