Overview

Hike takes you through beautiful old growth coastal forests and once at the top of the first views of the ocean is seen through the trees. Then take the hike to Cape Falcon to a grand view of the Cape and the ocean.

Need to Know

Parking on Falcon road will get tricky to find a spot if busy but during later in the season there's plenty of pull-offs to park and access the trail.

Description

Trail starts off going over cool wood foot bridges that cross small creeks - then flattens out into beautiful forested area of coastal trees and fauna. It then starts to switch-back up to the top of the hill and gains some elevation before it slowly meanders back down to a lookout at Cape Falcon. More ocean views pops out among the trees as you work your way down too so be sure to stop and take those views in as well. If you continue on the trail it connects to Cape Falcon Trail and end up on short Sand Beach- another option is to have someone pick you up there if you don't want to turn back to Falcon road.

Flora & Fauna

Old growth cedar trees, small salamander/lizards, beetles
