Features Views

Family Friendly Shorter trail with not a ton of elevation. Great views as a payoff. Nice shade for the warmer months.

Be considerate of other trail users.

Overview

VERY well maintained, with trees cut back and removed. BEAUTIFUL views north to Mt. Whitney from the summit of the trail. This isn't a destination trail in itself, but if you are hiking other trails in the area, a fun diversion.

Need to Know

A good chance you'll find other trail users due to the accessibility. Hike aware. Fantastic camping nearby at the Greenhorn Mountain County Park. Water, flush toilet, and hot showers.

Description

Easy parking at the trailhead by the forestry station. This is a nice loop trail that is mostly all at a less than 10% grade. Expect a few rock features, but a clear trail with no roots.

The trail was covered in snow most of the way, muddy and slippery what wasn't covered. Bring extra power bank for the phone to follow the trail! :) 3.4mi — 3h 30m
