Description
Starting in the north end parking lot, the Heritage Trail starts off meandering through some thick trees with glimpses of a creek as you make your way to the north end of the lake. The trail continues to follow the lake line with several view points along the way. Occasional glimpses of Mt. Hood on clear days and plenty of small critters and plants. The trail is relatively flat and straight lake-side that is 3.5 miles long.
This well-used trail is a mix of compacted dirt and gravel, intermittent pavement at the north and south ends and several bridges. There are usually several groups of walkers, dogs and mountain bikers. Caution and awareness of your surroundings is highly encouraged.
At the south end, the trail opens up to a well maintained park, boat ramp, and a jungle gym for the youngsters with plenty of space to relax and stretch after a nice hike.
