Overview

A beautiful singletrack high altitude trail in the La Sal Mountains.

Description

Although there's quite a bit of climbing to get to Gold Knob, the payoff is worth the sweat. This trail begins where Miner's Basin Road ends. You can access the Miner's Basin mining area near the middle of the trail. There was copper discovered at the location, and it was mined back in the late 1800s. After leaving Miner's Basin, the trail turns in a southwesterly direction. Look for the Gold Knob Trail junction and take a slight right, contouring and climbing to the top.
