Overview
This loop includes all of the trails winding through Roebling Park.
Need to Know
There are portapotties in the parking lot near Spring Lake.
Description
We started on the
Abbott Trail (Yellow) before turning right and doing the
Bluff Trail (Red). After coming back down and finishing the
Bluff Trail (Red), we continued on to the
Spring Lake Loop (Blue). We approached Spring Lake from the east and went counter-clockwise around the water.
On the opposite side of the lake, we turned right on to the
Island Trail (Orange) for a loop through some marshy area. Then we returned to the
Spring Lake Loop (Blue) and headed back to the Bluff Trail, but just briefly before turning right back onto the
Abbott Trail (Yellow) to return to the parking lot.
This short hike was very easily done by our dog, who was on a leash the entire hike. We encountered a few people, but all in all it was pretty quiet for a sunny Sunday morning.
Flora & Fauna
This hike is near a tidal marsh along the Delaware River, and the views of the marsh are very nice. Lots of birds to see, and we even caught sight of some deer.
