Dogs Leashed
Family Friendly
Easy trail, rest stops, picnic areas.
Need to Know
The trail connects the community and businesses.
Description
The trail has a mixed surface; pavement, crush stone, hardpack, and dirt/grass. This trail connects all the other trails and paths in Platteville.
There are a few places to get on to the trail. At Memorial Park by the UW-Platteville campus, Delta 3 Engineering or Visitor's Center on HWY151, or behind Walmart on HWY151 as well. The Dog Park parking is mainly for dog park users. At the dog park, across Mineral Street, there is parking for trail users. Make sure to read the signs posted as it is shared parking with businesses and trail users. Parking symbols have been added where you can get on the path.
You'll see a lot of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, pasture with cows all along this trail. The trail is used by many people; walkers, runners, road bikers, and mountain bikers. Pets are allowed, just need to be leashed at all times.
There is one loop between Markee Ave and Reddy Dr. You'll be able to take either path. The lower one is off-road, dirt and grass. The upper is paved and meets again with the main trail.
