Sakatah Lake State Park Loop

This hike is made of of several shorter trails starting from the Sakatah Lake State Park campground. Most is on wood chip trails though there is some singletrack and a portion is on the paved bike path.

Need a state park permit if you park at the trailhead.

Starting at the State Park Campground, follow Hidden Pond Trail. Cross the state bike trail and head toward the lake and the picnic area. Then turn east and hike along the lake. This is where it gets sketchy as parts of the trail are narrow and next to the water.

Continue out past the group camp on Timber Doodle Trail. This loops around and then you can hike back on the paved bike trail for a little bit before getting back on the trail toward the picnic area. Then, keep heading west along the lake on Wahpekute Trail, crossing the bike trail again, and onto Oak Tree Trail, then take the Big Woods Trail loop (a little hillier here). That connects back to Sumac Trail, which leads back to the campground and trailhead.
